Why your memory matters

One of the goals of the MOPEAD Project is to increase awareness about the importance of memory and Alzheimer's disease. Alzheimer's disease is the most common form of dementia, a degenerative brain disease with symptoms including the impairment of memory,  communication, visual perception and more severe symptoms including disorientation, mood and behaviour changes, difficulty speaking and impaired mobility.

While Alzheimer's disease and dementia often affect older people, recent research suggests changes in the brain occur much earlier than when symptoms first begin to show. By becoming more engaged in our memory health, we can diagnose Alzheimer's disease in a more timely manner allowing patients more access to support and better opportunities to delay the disease progression.

Our team of experts have produced some helpful infographics and materials to help guide you through the process of checking your memory health. Get started below!
